Dear Township Residents:
On February 10, 2022, in a regular scheduled meeting, the Franklin Township Board of Trustees discussed recycling materials, trash, and yard waste consortium through SWACO and Local Waste the current service provider. It was requested by the trustees that a letter be sent to the township residents explaining to them that at the present time the township is not participating in a consortium through SWACO.
A consortium involves the township contracting with SWACO utilizing Local Waste, a single hauler to be the exclusive provider for the township residents collecting their recycling materials, trash, and yard waste at a pre-determined monthly fee and being billed on a quarterly basis. Because the township does not presently have a contract within the consortium, they are encouraging residents to contact Local Waste directly to receive a quote regarding monthly service fees.
With the township not joining the consortium, residents have the flexibility of selecting their own trash hauler doing business in the township to address their trash, yard waste, and recycling needs. Franklin Township will not endorse or recommend any individual company and encourages each resident to explore what trash hauler is best for them and their needs.
The Franklin Township Trustees will continue to offer their support and commitment to the residents of the township.
Currently all resident may select their own trash hauler.
